We moved to the US from Brazil in 1998 in search of our American Dream. At the time it was just my wife, Renata, and I. We are so young, and honestly, had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. After a rough start and some struggles in the beginning, it became clear to us that we could make our American Dream a reality and eventually look forward to raising a family here.
After about a few months, I had the opportunity to start working at a kennel washing dogs. The job wasn’t luxurious but it was there that I developed a love for dogs. Several months after this job, I found a pet groomer position at a local salon. This job was the springboard for many greater things in my life. I developed grooming skills there but also, more importantly, the customer service skills to thrive in this industry. I became one of the best groomers at this salon.
After a handful of great years there, I decided that it was time to change it up again. I quit my job and opened up my own mobile grooming business. With lots of help from friends and the support from my family, I started Romeo & Juliet Mobile Pet Spa, and I’ve never been happier.
Has it been a smooth road?
I understood starting a new business would be challenging, and the situation was a little intimidating at first. But, I was blessed to have built a great reputation within the industry and with it a large client base from the beginning. The road hasn’t always been smooth, but I believe a positive outlook and the utmost dedication helped me to achieve my goals in life.
Romeo and Juliet is the result of years of hard work. We strive to best the best in the area.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like the diversity and business opportunities. And, New England social culture. People will generally help if you need it or ask, but otherwise leave you alone.
What I dislike most is the winter season. The winter is dark, cold, and sometimes brutal. There is a certain beauty and serenity if you don’t mind being stuck inside for long periods of time.
